In a conversation for California Healthline, Susan Tolle of the Oregon Health & Science University discussed Oregon’s experience implementing Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment.

POLST is a brightly-colored form that allows people to specify the type of end-of-life care they desire.

Tolle said California has some significantly different issues it will deal with as POLST expands across the state, with so many different cultures, languages and views on death and dying (California Healthline, 10/27).
