In a California Healthline report by Deirdre Kennedy, public health experts discussed the threat to Californians from a type of mosquito new to the state. It’s a mosquito that carries deadly tropical diseases, including yellow fever and dengue fever, and state public health officials are concerned about the possible spread of these diseases.
The report includes comments from:
- Kim Keyser, biologist with the San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District;
- Scott Morrow, Public Health Officer for the San Mateo County Public Health Department;
- Steve Mulligan, District Manager of the Consolidated Mosquito Abatement District of Fresno County; and
- Russell Parman, Vector Control District Acting Manager for the Santa Clara County Vector Control District.
