Telemedicine Network at the Forefront of Schwarzenegger's Agenda for Health IT

In a California Healthline Special Report, Michael Liang — Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s (R) deputy secretary for information technology — discussed California’s proposal for a telemedicine network.

The California Telehealth Network would connect 319 health care sites across the state as part of a three-year pilot program to help patients in rural areas access health care providers.

Schwarzenegger has called the initiative a top priority for his administration, and the state is seeking funding from the Federal Communications Commission to back the project.
