California hospitals recently filed reports with the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development detailing their progress on meeting state seismic safety requirements.
State law calls for hospitals to replace or update buildings at risk of collapse during an earthquake. Some hospitals have faced difficulty complying with the mandates because of the costs involved with retrofitting facilities.
