Nearly half of California hospitals got a grade of C, D or F in patient safety measures — that’s according to a new report out from the nonprofit Leapfrog Group. The report is aimed at educating consumers and employers on hospital quality measures.

After steady improvement in recent years, California hospitals lost ground in this month’s report card. California accounted for 6 of the 10 hospitals nationwide that received an F grade.
