With Senate Republicans’ plan to replace the Affordable Care Act imploding, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and President Donald Trump revisited the idea of repealing the law now and replacing it later. But that proposal — first floated in January — hit immediate obstacles. Several GOP senators on Tuesday dismissed it as a non-starter.
All this leaves California, which embraced Obamacare with eagerness and relative success, in a quandary. It was poised to release next year’s rates on the Covered California exchange Tuesday, but then postponed the decision until August because of the prevailing uncertainty.
