A consultant is seeking seven figures in damages after losing a contract to shore up Ventura County Medical Center’s finances, a setback her attorney pins heavily on the fact that she is the sister of county Chief Financial Officer Catherine Rodriguez. At a rate of $225 per hour, the contract was valued at up to $468,000 a year. Rodriguez’s older sister, Eileen Fisler, filed the claim against the county in June, claiming lost compensation, emotional distress, humiliation and illegal discrimination.
