Assembly Health Panel Kills Proposal for Fee on Alcohol
On Tuesday, the Assembly Health Committee rejected legislation that would have imposed a 10-cent fee on alcoholic drinks sold in California to help fund criminal justice and public health initiatives linked to alcohol abuse. Lawmakers rejected the proposal by Assembly member Jim Beall (D-San Jose) last year, too.
