AWARDS: UCSF Professor Honored for Reproductive Health Work
Dr. Philip Darney, professor and interim chair of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of California-San Francisco General Hospital Medical Center, was awarded Tuesday the Chancellor's Award for Public Service for his efforts to supply women with contraceptives on the local, national and international levels. He is world renowned for his significant achievements in research, education and program development in family planning. Darney's nominators praised his outstanding efforts to ensure access to family planning services for vulnerable women in the San Francisco Bay Area, highlighted by his creation of the New Generation Health Center (release, 4/19).
