California Senate Bill Seeks New Protections for Mammograms
On Thursday, Sen. Jenny Oropeza (D-Long Beach) introduced a bill that would require inspection results for mammogram machines to be placed where they are easily visible to patients, the Long Beach Press-Telegram reports.
SB 148 is aimed at exposing violations that may be present at mammography centers and physicians' offices in California.
Oropeza said, "Existing law requires annual inspections of mammogram machines but the results of those inspections could be posted in some back room" (Canalis, Long Beach Press-Telegram, 2/13).
