seven new hospitals to become the largest health care system in
California, with 30 hospitals and 6,811 licensed beds. CHW is
now sponsored by seven congregations with combined assets of $4.1
billion and annual revenues of $3.1 billion. With the new
acquisitions, CHW surpassed rival Kaiser Permanente, which
operates 28 hospitals with 5,604 licensed beds in the state.
