HEALTH SYSTEMS: New CEOs named at Stanford, CHW
CEOs were named this week at two major California health care systems, Stanford University Medical Center and Catholic Healthcare West. Stanford officials announced that veteran administrators Malinda Mitchell and Christopher Dawes have been appointed CEOs of Stanford and Lucile Packard Children's hospitals, respectively. Mitchell served as senior vice president and COO of the Stanford medical campus during its two-year merger with UCSF, while Dawes served as SVP and COO for Packard during the same period. Mitchell said she plans to focus on expanding the hospital's patient base, improving customer service and managing costs; Dawes said he will foster continued development of "leading-edge services" and underscored the importance of sharing services across the two hospitals to reach this goal. Both Mitchell and Dawes will assume their positions immediately (Stanford release, 4/6).
