Insurance Chief Rejects 16% Workers’ Comp Rate Increase

Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner (R) rejected the Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau's recommendation to increase the workers' compensation insurance rate by 16% beginning in January. Poizner did accept 5% rate increase to address higher medical and claims adjustment costs.
