JEWISH FAMILY SERVICE: Calls for Healthy Families Volunteers
Jewish Family Service is recruiting volunteers to help low-income families with the "very complex" applications for the Healthy Families program. Sally Weber, the organization's director of volunteer services, said volunteers "will be trained to offer assistance completing the Healthy Families application." She added, "We want enough volunteers [so] that we can offer a lot of geographic locations where people can go to apply for the program." The Los Angeles Times notes that Jewish Family Service has "nine centers in the Los Angeles area" (Edwards, 10/6).
