MEDEM: Dickey Expected to Take Editor-in-Chief Post
Dr. Nancy Dickey, the most immediate past president of the American Medical Association, is expected to be announced as the editor-in-chief for the new for-profit Internet venture Medem Inc. Dickey, a Texas A&M University medical school professor, will report to Medem's board and will sit on the Medem-E board. Medem-E is a not-for-profit company established to oversee Medem's editorial policy. Medem, which is backed by the AMA and other medical groups, will repackage information from member organizations for both professional and consumer audiences. This spring, the company will launch a service for doctors to provide them with customized Web sites, e-mail and other services (Wall Street Journal, 4/17).
