Modoc County Residents Will Vote on Tax To Fund Hospital
At the end of this month, residents of Modoc County in northeastern California will vote whether to increase property taxes to provide about $3 million annually to Modoc Medical Center, the county's sole medical facility. The hospital is the largest employer in the area but is struggling financially, and residents worry about possible repercussions if the facility closes.
