NIH Awards Contract to Eclipsys To Develop Clinical Research Information System
Officials at Eclipsys yesterday announced that NIH has awarded the Florida-based health care information technology company a "multimillion dollar" contract to develop and implement a clinical research information system at the Warren Grant Magnuson Clinical Center, the NIH research hospital, and the Mark O. Hatfield Clinical Research Center, currently under construction. Under the agreement, Eclipsys will integrate patient care, clinical research and hospital management in the system through the company's Clinical Manager product. The system will feature an electronic medical record application that includes laboratory result and pharmacy order functions (Eclipsys release, 1/7).
