Not-for-Profit Health Groups More Likely To Be Audited
Not-for-profit health care institutions are audited by external entities at a rate more than 50% higher than for-profit organizations, according to a recent study by the Health Care Compliance Association. The study found that not-for-profits on average were audited six times each calendar year, compared with fewer than four audits among for-profits.
