Orange County Register Examines Bill To Provide Care Managers to Some Seniors
The Orange County Register on Sunday looked at a bill (AB 43) currently before the Legislature intended to help Medi-Cal beneficiaries take advantage of services offered by not-for-profit organizations and the government. The bill, introduced by, Assembly Committee on Aging and Long-Term Care Chair Lynn Daucher (R-Brea), would assign care managers to Medi-Cal beneficiaries to assess their financial, medical and personal care needs. The measure was approved by the Assembly but is delayed in the Senate in part because the United Domestic Workers and other union members are lobbying to receive benefits under the bill, the Register reports (Glenn Haas, Orange County Register, 7/6).
