Quality
AB 2170 by Assembly member Wilma Chan (D-Oakland) was amended to eliminate a provision that would have required the Legislature to express its intentions for a patient advocate program to include certain information in quality report cards of health plans. The legislation would create the patient advocate program and require reports cards on the quality of care and access provided by Medicare prescription drug plans and stand-alone plans under Medicare Part D (Bill text, 5/26). The legislation was passed 49-31 by the Assembly and now goes to the Senate (StateNet, Subscription required).
