Report: Disciplinary Actions Against Doctors Rose in 2009

State medical boards took 5,721 disciplinary actions against physicians in 2009, an increase of 342 actions from 2008, according to a new report from the Federation of State Medical Boards. The report found that the number of disciplinary actions increased by 6% in 2009, compared with 1% during the previous year.
