RITALIN: Did Novartis Push Treatment for Fictional Disease?
Readin,' Writin,' and Ritalin. School is back in session, and with it, another round in the controversy about drugging hyperactive children. A lawsuit filed last week in federal court in San Diego accused the drug company Novartis of conspiring with the American Psychiatric Association to create a new disease and inflate its symptoms, all just to sell more Ritalin. Imagine -- a drug company promoting a disease just to sell more pills. California Healthline's Jeff Stryker is shocked, shocked.
