SAFETY NEEDLES: Chronicle Backs OSHA Regs
An editorial in today's Chronicle says Cal OSHA has "displayed aggressive and wise national leadership" in proposing new regulations that mandate the use of safety needles. But changing safety regulations should not be the only recourse, the Chronicle says, arguing that needle manufacturers should "agree to cut the price" of the safety needles. However, it notes that "no matter what the ... price tag, the long-term savings in lives and medical care costs would make the switch to safety needles more than pay for itself" (6/22).
