Schwarzenegger Appoints Director of Department of Managed Health Care
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) on Tuesday appointed Lucinda Ann Ehnes as director of the Department of Managed Health Care, a four-year-old department that regulates HMOs in California, the Sacramento Bee reports. Ehnes since December has served as division manager of self-funded health plans for CalPERS. In the past, she has served as deputy director of plan and provider relations for DMHC and as interim executive officer of the Board of Optometry. Ehnes also has worked as legislative affairs director for the Colorado Commission on Family Medicine and director of enforcement for the Colorado Division of Insurance. The Senate must approve the appointment. The DMHC director receives an annual salary of $123,255 (Chan, Sacramento Bee, 3/17).
