Service Lets Uninsured Seek Health Care Discounts
The California Medical Association has partnered with a Sacramento firm to offer a new service that allows uninsured California residents to search online for discounted health care services, the Sacramento Business Journal reports.
The service, which CMA offers in conjunction with Sacramento-based National Healthcare Exchange Services, will let uninsured residents search online for physicians who offer discounts and will let physicians provide cost estimates and information about payment schedules.
CMA CEO Jack Lewin said, "Consumers without health insurance need a way to find affordable care without having to pay a monthly fee to access physicians willing to offer discount for prompt payments" (Sacramento Business Journal, 5/16).
