Sharon Davis Encourages Healthy Families Enrollment at Long Beach Children’s Health Fair

California first lady and Healthy Families spokesperson Sharon Davis this weekend attended the annual Long Beach Children's Health Fair, part of an outreach event aimed at increasing enrollment in Healthy Families and Medi-Cal for Children. Davis said, "The Healthy Families Program and Medi-Cal for Children give the opportunity to enhance the lives of thousands of children throughout California. Through events like the Long Beach Children's Health Fair we will continue to reach California families to achieve our goal of ensuring that every eligible child in California receives the health care he or she needs and deserves." Healthy Families now provides coverage for 420,000 children, and more than 2.6 million children are covered by Medi-Cal (Office of the Governor release, 5/19).
