UC-Riverside Plans To Rotate Medical Students at Inland Hospitals
University of California-Riverside officials are working to develop rotations for third- and fourth-year medical students at local hospitals and clinics as part of university efforts to launch a medical school, UCR Chancellor France Cordova told physicians and civic leaders on Wednesday, the Riverside Press-Enterprise reports.
Cordova said she would meet with UCLA officials on Monday and Tuesday to discuss the rotations and residencies at area hospitals.
The rotations and residencies would be a building block of the proposed medical school, based on a UCR/UCLA program that allows students to complete their first two years of medical school at UCR and the last two years at UCLA.
UCR officials expect to send their proposal for a medical school to the UC Board of Regents in April (Agha, Riverside Press-Enterprise, 2/9).
