AHRQ Doles Out $34M To Target Health Care Infections
On Tuesday, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality announced that it has awarded more than $34 million in grants to help lower health care-associated infection rates. The grants will target catheter-associated urinary tract infections, surgical site infections and ventilator-associated pneumonia. Some of the funding will go toward efforts to develop, test and extend the use of new modules of the Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program, which has been successful at preventing and reducing HAIs.
