AHRQ Launches Online Tool to Help States Evaluate Children’s Health Programs
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality this week announced the launch of the Child Health Toolbox, an online resource designed to help state and local policymakers, program directors, consumer advocates and others measure the quality of children's health programs such as Medicaid and CHIP. According to an AHRQ release, the agency created the tool to assist state health programs, which are "encouraged or required to provide quality performance measurement data to" both federal and state entities. The tool explains performance measurement, gives established performance measurement sets involving child health and provides guidance to modify or design performance measures. The toolbox can be found at http://www.ahrq.gov/chtoolbx/ (AHRQ release, 3/20).
