ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE: Most Kaiser Docs Back Therapies
Nine out of 10 primary care doctors in Kaiser Permanente's Northern California plan "recommended alternative therapies or used them on adult members in the past year" -- mostly for "pain management." And almost half of Kaiser members had tried alternative medicine, with the most common treatments including chiropractic, acupuncture, massage and relaxation techniques. Investor's Business Daily reports that the results are part of a survey in the Western Journal of Medicine (9/11). The September issue is due out next week.
