ANTHRAX: Marine Faces Court-Martial Over Vaccine Refusal
A court-martial has been scheduled for Cpl. Daniel Stephens, a Marine at California's Miramar Marine Corps Air Station who refused to take a series of anthrax vaccinations, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Stephens was recently demoted from the rank of sergeant because of his refusal to take the controversial vaccination, which the Pentagon requires for all military personnel. The Marine's wife, Mary Alice Stephens, said that she and her husband were concerned about possible birth defects in future children. In August, two other Miramar Marines in August were found guilty of refusing orders to receive the innoculations; both got bad-conduct discharges and "time in the brig" (1/22).
