Assembly Signs Off on Emergency Response Bill
The Assembly this week approved a bill (AB 64) intended to make it easier for out-of-state health care providers to volunteer in California in emergencies, Capital Public Radio's "KXJZ News" reports.
The legislation by Assembly member Patty Berg (D-Santa Rosa) is part of a nationwide effort to help ensure that health care workers can travel quickly between states to hasten emergency response.
The bill now moves to the Senate (O'Mara, "KXJZ News," Capital Public Radio, 5/17).
