Axis Community Health Plans Expansion of Livermore Clinic
Axis Community Health -- a Pleasanton-based not-for-profit organization that operates clinics in Pleasanton and Livermore -- in spring 2006 will begin construction on a project to increase the number of exam rooms at its Livermore facility from four to nine, the Oakland Tribune reports.
According to the Tribune, the expansion is funded in part by community development block grants from the city of Livermore and funding from Measure A, a half-cent tax increase approved by Alameda County voters last year.
In addition to the grants and Measure A funding, Axis is receiving $10,000 from Kaiser Permanente and the Tri-Valley Community Foundation.
Axis, which has an annual budget of $4.8 million, needs to raise an additional $75,000 to completely finance the expansion project (Carter, Oakland Tribune, 10/13).
