Brown Signals Openness to Tougher Vaccine Exemptions
On Wednesday, Gov. Jerry Brown (D) appeared open to legislation that would eliminate all but medical waivers to vaccinations, despite having preserved religious exemptions in 2012. Evan Westrup, a spokesperson for Brown, said that the governor "believes that vaccinations are profoundly important and a major public health benefit, and any bill that reaches his desk will be closely considered."
