A measure (AB 1869) by Assembly member Joel Anderson (R-Alpine) aims to consolidate state boards and commissions by abolishing a number of entities and transferring their responsibilities to a larger state entity. For example, the measure would eliminate the Office of Rural Health and the Rural Health Policy Council and transfer those roles to the Department of Health Care Services (Bill text, 4/3). The bill is before the Assembly Committee on Business and Professions (Bill text, 4/3).
