Calif. Campaign Aims To Help Latinos Access Health Services
A multifaceted campaign to bring health care services to more Latino residents in California was announced this week, the Sacramento Bee reports.
The comprehensive campaign was announced during an event hosted by Mexican Consul General Carlos Gonzalez Gutiérrez to highlight the success of Ventanillas de Salud, or Health Windows, which provides health care information and referrals to California residents, particularly Latinos. About 80% of Latino residents living in California are of Mexican descent, according to the Bee.
According to testimony during the event, Ventanillas de Salud has helped connect about 40,000 individuals in 24 Northern California counties to health care services.
