California Health Care Personnel News Update for February 2009
Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center, Thousand Oaks
On Feb. 25, HCA officials announced that Jim Sherman had resigned as president and CEO of Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center, the Ventura County Star reports.
Hospital chain HCA owns the facility.
Bryan Rogers of HCA said that Los Robles Chief Operating Officer Natalie Mussi will serve as interim CEO (Harris, Ventura County Star, 2/27).
San Francisco General Hospital
Gene Marie O'Connell, CEO of San Francisco General Hospital, will retire March 20, the San Francisco Business Times reports.
San Francisco Department of Public Health chief Mitch Katz is naming Sue Currin as O'Connell's replacement. Currin currently is chief operating officer and chief nursing officer of S.F. General (Rauber, San Francisco Business Times, 2/20).
Tulare District Hospital
Steven Debuskey has been named Tulare District Hospital's vice president for outpatient clinical services, the Visalia Times Delta reports.
He previously served as Tulare County's deputy director of health care centers (Gibbons, Visalia Times-Delta, 2/6).
UC-Irvine Medical Center and School of Medicine, Orange
David Bailey, the vice chancellor for health affairs at UC-Irvine, will retire in July, the Orange County Register reports.
As vice chancellor, Bailey oversaw UC-Irvine Medical Center and School of Medicine.
