Calif. Health Care Personnel News Update for July 2009
American Lung Association-California
The American Lung Association's California branch has named Jane Warner president and CEO, the San Francisco Business Times reports. Warner assumed her new position immediately.
Previously, Warner served as executive director of the American Diabetes Association of Southern California. She also has held positions with Family Service of Long Beach, the Arthritis Foundation and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (Rauber, San Francisco Business Times, 7/6).
Delta Dental of California
Delta Dental of California and its affiliates have named Charles Lamont chief legal officer and executive vice president, the Business Times reports. Lamont will oversee the dental insurance company's legal, regulatory, compliance, human resources and public affairs activities.
Previously, Lamont served as Delta Dental's senior vice president for legal and compliance issues (Rauber, San Francisco Business Times, 7/22).
Doctors Medical Center, San Pablo
The governing board of Doctors Medical Center has named Richard Reid CFO of the 189-bed public district hospital, the Business Times reports. Previously, Reid served as CFO at St. Mary's of Michigan Health Care.
Officials said Reid will oversee financial operations, goals and strategies for Doctors Medical Center. The hospital emerged from Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection in August 2008 (Rauber, San Francisco Business Times, 7/23).
Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute
In late July, the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute announced that it has selected David Meyer as its new CEO, the Los Angeles Business Journal reports. Meyer currently is vice president of research at House Ear Institute in Los Angeles.
Meyer is replacing Ken Trevett, who announced his resignation last fall (Crowe, Los Angeles Business Journal, 7/27).
Medical Board of California
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) reappointed Reginald Low (R) to the Medical Board of California.Â Low has been a member of the board since 2006.
Low has been the chief of division of cardiovascular medicine at UC-Davis School of Medicine since 2000.
Senate confirmation is required for the position.Â Compensation is $100 per diem (Office of the Governor release, 7/31).
Orange County Health Care Agency
Orange County's Health Care Agency has named David Riley director, the Orange County Register's "Healthy Living" reports. Riley has held the interim director position since March.
Riley had served in various roles with the agency since 1983.County officials say they have yet to set a salary for his new position (Perkes, "Healthy Living," Orange County Register, 7/15).
