California Board of Behavioral Sciences
On June 3, Gov. Jerry Brown (D) reappointed Peter Chiu (D) to the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

California Board of Optometry
On June 5, Brown made two reappointments to the California Board of Optometry:
- Madhu Chawla (American Independent); and
- Rachel Michelin (R).

California Board of Pharmacy
On June 9, Brown made two appointments to the California Board of Pharmacy:
- Allen Schaad (D); and
- Stanley Weisser (R).

California Board of Psychology
On June 3, Brown reappointed Jacqueline Horn (D) to the California Board of Psychology.

California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians
On June 9, Brown made two reappointments to the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians:
- Tammy Endozo (D); and
- Samantha James-Perez.

California Council on Developmental Disabilities
On June 24, Brown made two appointments to the California Council on Developmental Disabilities:
- Francis Lau; and
- Ana Ubensmith.

California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation
On June 8, Brown made six appointments to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation:
- Ralph Diaz has been appointed deputy director of facility operations;
- Nolice Edwards (D) has been appointed chief of the Office of Victim Services;
- Cynthia Florez-DeLyon (D) has been appointed deputy director of community re-entry services and program support;
- Robert Fox (R) has been appointed warden at the California Medical Facility;
- Kelly Harrington (R) has been appointed director of the Division of Adult Institutions; and
- Amy Miller (D) has been appointed associate director of reception center institutions.
Harrington and Miller require Senate confirmation, while the others do not (Office of the Governor release, 6/8).
California Department of Insurance
On June 12, John Finston was named general counsel for the California Department of Insurance, effective July 6 (California Department of Insurance release, 6/12).
Meanwhile, George Mueller was named deputy commissioner for DOI's enforcement branch, effective July 20. Mueller will replace Eric Weirich, who retired in December 2014 (Robertson, Sacramento Business Journal, 6/2).
California Department of Public Health
On June 5, Brown appointed Jayanth Kumar as dental director of the state Department of Public Health's Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.
The position does not require Senate confirmation, and compensation is $150,000 annually (Office of the Governor release, 6/5).
California Institute of Regenerative Medicine
On June 11, Michael Quick, a neurobiologist, was appointed to the Citizens Financial Accountability Oversight Committee, which oversees the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine's financial practices.
Quick is the provost and senior vice president for academic affairs for the University of Southern California (California State Controller's Office release, 6/11).
Camarillo Health Care District
The Camarillo Health Care District's board of directors has voted unanimously to name Kara Partridge Ralston as CEO of the district.
Ralston previously served at the district's COO (Ventura County Star, 6/9).
Dignity Health
Dignity Health CFO Michael Blaszyk has announced that he will retire in December.
Blaszyk has been with the health system since 2000 (Robertson, Sacramento Business Journal, 6/15).
Doheny Eye Institute
SriniVas Sadda has been appointed president and chief scientific officer of the Doheny Eye Institute in Los Angeles.
Sadda also has been named the inaugural holder of the Stephen J. Ryan-Arnold and Mabel Beckman Endowed Chair at the institute (Doheny Eye Institute release, 6/1).
Cares Community Health
Cares Community Health CEO Bob Kamrath retired at the end of June.
The CCH board has begun searching for a new CEO and anticipates that Kamrath's successor will assume the role by September (Robertson, Sacramento Business Journal, 6/12).
Medical Board of California
On June 4, Brown made two reappointments to the Medical Board of California:
- Dev GnanaDev (R); and
- Sharon Levine (D).
The positions do not require Senate confirmation, and compensation is $100 per diem (Office of the Governor release, 6/4).
Napa County Health and Human Services Agency
Karen Relucio has been named chief public health officer for Napa County, effective July 6.
Relucio previously worked as assistant health officer in San Mateo County (Napa Valley Register, 6/9).
Osteopathic Medical Board of California
On June 4, Brown made two reappointments to the Osteopathic Medical Board of California:
- Michael Feinstein (D); and
- Joseph Zammuto (D).
The positions do not require Senate confirmation, and compensation is $100 per diem (Office of the Governor release, 6/4).
Respiratory Care Board of California
On June 9, Brown made two appointments to the Respiratory Care Board of California:
- Mary Ellen Early (D); and
- Mark Goldstein (D).

San Diego County Public Health Services
Sayone Thihalolipavan has been named deputy public health officer for San Diego County.
Thihalolipavan previously worked as medical director of the New York Bureau of Chronic Disease and Tobacco Control's Clinical and Scientific Unit (Alfonso, Lemon Grove Patch, 6/29).
