California Nurses Endorse Dem Jerry Brown for Governor
On Saturday, directors of the California Nurses Association unanimously endorsed state Attorney General Jerry Brown (D) for governor, the Oakland Tribune reports.
During an hour-long meeting, which Brown attended, union leaders highlighted Brown's record of labor advocacy when he was governor from 1975 to 1983 and his work on health care (Burt, Oakland Tribune, 3/20).
Brown Attacks Whitman
In the question-and-answer session, Brown drew a sharp contrast between himself and former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, who is seeking the Republican nomination. He called her a corporate executive who would "roll over jobs, roll over people, roll over families" (Marinucci, San Francisco Chronicle, 3/21).
