Capacity of Psychiatric Beds Drops in California Hospitals
A new report from the Treatment Advocacy Center found that California has 17 psychiatric beds in public hospitals for each 100,000 residents, mirroring a nationwide trend. Researchers say California needs double that number to adequately care for people with mental illnesses.
