CARESCIENCE: Enters Contract to Support Community Clinics
CareScience Inc. recently joined forces with the Tides Foundation to provide its Internet-based CareStandard products to more than 165 community health clinics and 15 regional clinic groups in California. "This project is an unprecedented opportunity for community clinics to bring advanced information technology into the clinic setting," Dr. David Brailer, CEO of CareScience, said. Under the two-year contract, CareScience will help establish online collaboration between community clinics and provide access to an Internet marketplace where information products can be evaluated and purchased. Clinics will also have access to product specific information and the experiences of other users. "We are providing online products that reduce the burden of clinics," Julie Vaughan of CareScience said. The Community Clinic Initiative, developed by the Tides Foundation and funded by the California Endowment, aims to bolster the use of information systems in community clinics statewide (CareScience release, 6/8).
