CEDARS-SINAI MEDICAL CENTER: Tenet Deal Collapses
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Tenet Healthcare Corp. have cancelled an agreement under which Cedars-Sinai "would have assumed management of two Tenet hospitals." Under the deal, Cedars-Sinai would have managed Midway Hospital Medical Center and the Century City Hospital, both in west Los Angeles. The deal fell through, the Los Angeles Times reports, because "the companies were unable to reach an acceptable agreement with the company that owns the Century City Medical Center building," which Tenet manages but does not own. Cedars-Sinai Vice President Rick Jacobs said, "We were hoping this would strengthen our competitive position, but we have other things we're working on" (Olmos, 4/3).
