CMS Offers Tactics To Curb Medicaid ED Visits Under ACA
On Tuesday, CMS outlined strategies states and care providers can adopt to mitigate a potential increase in emergency department visits by individuals who are newly eligible for Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. Some of the strategies include directing patients who would otherwise go to an ED to more appropriate care settings and broadening access to primary care services by creating more medical and health home programs.
