Coalition Will Address Health Outreach for Latino Women
Kaiser Permanente, the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association and American Heart Association on Wednesday announced that they will launch a campaign to help Latino women and their families lower their risk of cancer, diabetes, heart disease and stroke, the Sacramento Bee reports.
The campaign, called "Everyday Choices for Healthier Life," is funded with a $1 million grant from Kaiser. It seeks to establish guidelines for Latinas to maintain a healthy diet, stay physically active, avoid smoking and receive regular health care services.
The campaign, which will include bilingual advertisements and brochures, will target women living and working in the nine Bay Area counties and in Sacramento and Fresno (Griffith, Sacramento Bee, 9/22).
