CONTRA COSTA: Partnership Awards Grants For Breast Cancer Prevention
The Contra Costa Breast Cancer partnership is awarding grants totaling $65,000 to prevent breast cancer. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the grants -- up to $15,000 each -- will go to "medical providers and community organizations" to provide "annual breast cancer screenings to women, including mammograms for some women." The grants will also help educate women about "how to reduce the risks of breast cancer" and will assist non-English speaking women with finding care. "The partnership is a coalition of hospitals, community organizations and the Contra Costa County Health Services Department," the Chronicle reports (9/11).
