Cutting Adult Medi-Cal Benefits Will Hurt Clinics
Gov. Schwarzenegger's proposal to eliminate adult dental care as a Medi-Cal benefit "could financially cripple California's community clinics and, more important, devastate thousands of patients who rely on clinic dental services," Carmela Castellano-Garcia, president and CEO of the California Primary Care Association, writes in an opinion piece. She concludes that "the negative consequences of eliminating adult dental far outweigh any short-term financial benefits to the state."
