Data Shows Slowdown in Hiring at Hospitals in 2009
Data from the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics indicate that hospitals nationwide added 300 jobs last month, down from 16,800 jobs in May 2008 and 8,700 jobs in May 2007. Hospitals have added 11,500 jobs in the first five months of 2009, down from 60,600 last year.
