DENTAL CARE: Sierra Health Fdtn. Dedicates $500K to Underserved
Sierra Health Foundation's board of directors has approved $500,000 in grants to support Northern California dental health projects under the BrightSMILES program, which aims to expand dental service access to underserved populations in 26 Northern California counties. The Sacramento Bee reports that preference will be given to programs that promote preventive care, improve primary dental care utilization and increase access to dental services for the uninsured. Some 600 potential program participants have been sent information and invited to attend meetings early next week on the new funding opportunity. Interested parties may call 916-922-4755 for more information (6/2).
