Department of Veterans Affairs Plans New Facility in Alameda County
The Department of Veterans Affairs is planning to construct a new 10,000-square-foot outpatient facility that will specialize in primary care and mental health, Jason Nietupski, facility manager for the VA Palo Alto Health System, said, the Oakland Tribune reports.
Nietupski said the health system hopes to open the new facility between Hayward and Fremont in about a year and will partner with a realtor or developer in the next few months either to find or build the facility.
The planned facility will be the VA Palo Alto Health System's 10th facility. About 90,000 veterans live in Alameda County (Metinko, Oakland Tribune, 6/30).
